At Evoagro, our goal is to create value for agriculture in Colombia, and this significant responsibility includes initiating the necessary discussions for us to continue evolving together.
Therefore, during the official launch of our business group, which took place on July 9th in Bogotá, we invited four experts to discuss the challenges and perspectives of the sector.
Juliana Carmona, President of the Colombian Electronic Factoring Association; Fabián Andrés Wilches Rojas, CEO and Founder of Solugral; and Luis Ernesto Vaquiro, Manager of the Cooperative of Coffee Growers of Southern Tolima – Cafisur – were our panelists, moderated by Fernando Quijano, Director of Diario La República.
Here are three key conclusions:
– Profitability is the most important issue for farmers; we cannot talk about sustainability if implementing best practices makes businesses unprofitable.
– Education is the key to connecting the field with financing solutions and strategies, such as crowdfunding, which could mitigate the impact of massive rural migration.
– It is necessary to modernize agricultural operation and optimize production processes through technology to create a true industrial revolution in the field.
Thank you to our panelists and to everyone who joined us for this event.
